I am Roma (I am Gypsie) , the NGO

Since 1997, Hans-Peter Dörig has organized and directed the NGO "I am Roma."
In addition to the tours of the Jimmy Mustafa Band and the accompanying traveling exhibition "Mahalla" including the impressive photographs by Ursula Markus , the new projects Music4All and Sports4All have come into focus.
We try to help develop and finance these projects. These projects are very important for Roma children, but they are also open to children of other ethnic groups.

Goals of our work

The association I am Roma manages the projects and productions of the NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) of the same name to promote the culture of the Roma people worldwide.

It should:

Promote understanding of Roma culture and their way of thinking and living.
Contribute to reducing prejudices against the Roma.
Help fight the ongoing discrimination against Roma.
With its projects, it opens up perspectives for Roma children and young people and supports them on their path to a better future.

Our project partners

CIRCUS LOLLYPOP : Karola Rühs & Team

Volunteer for circus projects in the Balkans and provide the infrastructure for the Jimmy Mustafa Band 's IamGypsie tour .

HOTEL GRACANICA: Andreas Wormser & Team

Assisted in organizing the IamGypsie tour with the Jimmy Mustafa Band .

BLUE WONDER MUSIC HOUSE: Team

They provided equipment for the IamGypsie tour with the Jimmy Mustafa Band .

NGO VoRAE: Team

The NGO VoRAE (Voice of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians) in Kosovo. They operate After-school projects and organize scholarships for Roma to enable them to access higher education.

SUMMER SCHOOL KOSOVO: Tanja Polli & team

Playing, learning, and laughing. Discovering new things and making friends. Children in the Vushtrri region experience all this and more. It's their diversion during the summer months, as they don't have the money for activities.
